Welcome to the Dixie Chapter Website!

The Dixie Chapter is proud to serve all the cable and telecommunications professionals of the State of Alabama and surrounding areas by working to further the mission of SCTE, the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers. 

 The chapter was revived from dormancy in 2002 thanks to very strong support from the Region 8 Director (Steven Christopher, at the time) and from the generous vendors among the SCTE membership which conducted business with CATV clients in the area.

These same vendors were critical in providing early support to us in our first Vendor day event back in 2003.

Since then we have held Golf Tournaments and Vendor Days in 2004 and 2005 which have successfully funded our treasury enabling us to provide general meetings to our membership in several locations in the state.

 We have held general meetings in Huntsville, Birmingham, Clanton, Montgomery and Perdido Key along the Alabama gulf coast.  We have found that by using geographically dispersed sites for our meetings, we have appealed to a wide cross section of members in the entire state that may not otherwise attend.
